Jackets

When the warm winds from summer fade and the cooler winds start to take over, it’s time to get a jacket or two in order to stay warm. Fortunately, you do not have to sacrifice fashion sense in order to keep off the winter chill. It is possible to buy jackets that match your current clothes and fashion taste.

Jackets VS Coats

This is sort of like the “handbag or purse” debate. People always find themselves wondering what the difference between jackets and coats is. Fortunately, this is an easy one to explain. If it will keep you warm in twelve feet of snow, it’s a coat. If it can not keep you cozy in a snow drift, but can ward off the fall chill, it’s a jacket! One of the nice things about jackets is that they are very light and are much more suited to match your outfit than a coat is. It is always recommended that you have two jackets in your wardrobe: one for everyday use, and one for dress. This way you will be prepared for everything! You get bonus points if you choose a jacket that not only flatters you, but your wardrobe as well.

The Trench

A nice fashion touch for this fall season is the new take on the trench coat. We all remember the dark movies that show the hero wearing a black trench coat that touches the floor. Unfortunately, trenches do not suit every body style. Shorter people were condemned to having to avoid trench coats, as they were not made for that body type. Now, however, shorter trenches, such as the Embroidered Pocket Trench Coat by Sugar Lips, have found their way into the fashion scene. These trench coats are meant to touch right below the hips, instead of the floor, which means that they flatter any figure. Look for trenches that have embroidery or other feminine touches, such as bell sleeves.

Reversible?

Another fun, and helpful, trend in jackets this season is the reversible jacket, such as the Corduroy Striped Reversible Jacket by Nuvula. These jackets have two sides, which makes them perfect for every day use. Often one side consists of more neutral colors, while the other has brighter colors, or a funky print. When going for every day use, neutral colors is the best way to go. Reversible jackets are selling quickly out of fashion boutiques, because women know that finding that one perfect jacket is always a tricky thing.
