All of her life Dana had a love of fine jewelry, and as a graphic designer she seemed to be on a constant search for unusual, creative yet beautifully designed pieces with a unique attention to detail. Her frustration with the boring and predictable jewelry available in the stores led her to design several pieces of jewelry for herself.
The overwhelming number of compliments and inquiries about where to purchase the pieces Dana was wearing led her to leave her job and go back to school and seriously study jewelry design and fabrication. This is truly a labor of love for her and she has never looked back.
Dana's signature “Cono” collection is crafted in 18K gold with gemstones, mostly diamonds. She feels that these two materials create a neutral palette that allow the pure shapes and satin finishes of her designs to enhance the natural beauty of the metal and stones. Dana's inspiration is to bring a sense of purity and balance, without clutter and ornamentation, to beautiful pieces of very wearable jewelry.
Her graphic design background clearly influences her jewelry designs, and is especially evident in the Graffiti Collection, which consists of letterforms and graphic icons in gold set with black diamonds. These pieces could have easily been lifted right off the printed pages of a design publication, but making them into jewelry, worn on the body, gives them an entirely new dimension that is fresh and modern.
