A New Favorite From XCVI

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

XCVI is setting the world on fire with incredible skirts. Their skirts look great on the body, are comfortable, and reasonably priced. Most people I know have multiple colors in the Double Shirred Panel Skirt & the Diagonal Peasant Skirt. We at Artfulwears.com, are very excited about a new skirt from XCVI Wearables. It’s called the Comfy Skirt.

Comfy Skirt By XCVI

The Comfy Skirt is the perfect mid-length (28″) with a flattering a-line cut. Detailed with two flat zip pockets, two cargo pockets, and a knit waist with a drawstring, this skirt is totally hip. The back has a knit center panel too!

Try it, we think you will love it!

Belly Cloaking

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

So is your belly a little larger than you would like? Lucky for you, it’s easy to cover it up with the clothes.

Beaded 2 Layer Top By InterludJade Top By HypeFirst, look for tops that float away from your body. Generally, an ompier seam (one that goes under the bust) and flairs out is the perfect top for someone with a little large tummy. The fitted area at the top will emphasize the smallest part of your body and the bottom will cover what you don’t want people to see. The Jade Top by Hype and the Beaded 2 Layer Top by Interlud (more of a bubble which also works) both offer this type of coverage.

Ivy Dress By Butterfly DropoutAnother great option is a dress. Again, if you are heavier in the mid-section2 Pocket Dress By Hanna stay away from straight cuts. Look for a good a-line (will also camouflage a big tush) that will make your top look smaller. Ompier seams are also great as they generally will float away at the tummy area. Check out the 2 Pocket Dress By Hanna or the Ivy Dress By Butterfly Dropout for examples.

How To Hide Big Thighs

Friday, January 25th, 2008

If you are like many women, you think your thighs are too big and you are constantly trying to hide them. The good news is, it’s pretty simple to do.

The simplest and easiest way to camouflage your thighs is wearing a skirt or a dress. A skirt or a dress almost always hides the tops of your legs. Frankly, we think most women look better in skirts or dresses anyway. It adds a certain amount of femininity to your look.

However, if you insist on wearing pants or trousers you should opt for ones that have a wide leg. Always fit the largest part of your body. So if the pants fit you everywhere on your body but your thighs in a 6, buy the 8 and have the waist and/or hips taken in. We assure you this will make you look 10lbs thinner! Alterations are well worth the small cost.

Every girl needs a great dress…

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

So we know every girl needs a great dress, I need at least 20! However, I truly love this Beaded 2 Layer Dress by Interlud. If I had to pick just one, this just might be IT.

There are so many unique features to this dress. It is made of a blend of lyocelle and silk chiffon, that creates a deliciously soft knit. It feels GREAT against the body. Adorned with great silver beads that create a contemporary modern look. Basically, you can look great and feel great too. We love the muted plum color.

Spring ‘08 Trends - Skirt Lengths & Dresses

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

I have good news for the short women of the world, knee-length and slightly above the knee-length skirts are the strong trend for Spring ‘08. The news is also good for taller women in that these skirts will still be long enough for you too. The trend for spring is showing  a fuller style skirt that is slimming on most figures.

While skirt lengths have become shorter, we are seeing fewer skirts and pants and far more dresses. Look for lots of dresses this season in many different styles, including button down shirt-types.
